Getting your American Heart Association® BLS, ACLS, or PALS course completion eCard used to mean blocking off an entire day. You’d commute to a classroom, sit through lectures you may already know, and hope the scheduled time didn’t conflict with your shift at Sutter Tracy Community Hospital or Kaiser Permanente Manteca Medical Center.
That model works for some people. For many Tracy healthcare professionals, it doesn’t.
Safety Training Seminars offers a better option: Self-Guided Learning™ courses for BLS, ACLS, and PALS, available right here in Tracy at 902 N Central Ave Suite 219—just off N Central Ave and E 9th St, a short drive from Downtown Tracy and West Valley Mall.
Here’s exactly how it works.
Self-Guided Learning™ is a course-based learning approach from the American Heart Association®. It combines two components:
Learners complete both components on their own schedule. No fixed class times. No group sessions. Upon successful completion of both, you receive an American Heart Association Course Completion eCard for BLS, ACLS, or PALS.
This is not the same as blended learning, which still requires an instructor-led skills session. Self-Guided Learning courses are fully self-directed—from the first online module to the final skills check.
The online portion uses True Adaptive™ learning technology powered by Area9 Lyceum. This technology continuously assesses your knowledge and confidence, then adjusts the content path in real time.
What that means for you: if you already understand high-quality CPR mechanics, the system won’t make you re-read what you already know. It focuses your time on the areas that need reinforcement. The result is a faster, more efficient learning experience.
You can access the online course from a desktop, laptop, or tablet—at home, on a break between shifts, or anywhere else. The course saves your progress, so you can complete it across multiple sessions if needed.
Approximate online learning times:
Completing the online activity alone does not issue your eCard. The skills session is a required component.
Once you finish the online learning activity, you schedule your self-guided skills session at the CPR Verification Station™ learning center at Safety Training Seminars’ Tracy office.
During the session, you perform required psychomotor skills—including compressions, ventilations, and two-rescuer CPR. The CPR Verification Station learning center measures your performance against American Heart Association–defined criteria and provides real-time, objective audiovisual feedback.
There is no instructor coaching during this session. The technology assesses your performance directly. You can repeat the required skills activities as often as needed to achieve a passing score.
Skills sessions run approximately 30 minutes for BLS, ACLS, and PALS. The Tracy office operates Monday through Sunday, 8 AM to 10 PM, making it straightforward to schedule around rotating shifts or unpredictable hours.
Self-Guided Learning courses work best for:
If you work near the Tracy Sports Complex, commute through the Central Valley corridor, or serve patients anywhere in the Tracy area, this format removes the logistical barriers that traditional classroom training creates.
This distinction matters in official communications and when presenting your eCard to an employer.
AHA BLS, ACLS, and PALS courses result in an American Heart Association Course Completion eCard—not a professional certification, license, or credential. The eCard verifies that you successfully completed the required training and skills evaluation in accordance with American Heart Association curriculum standards.
Your eCard is valid for two years. It’s accepted by hospitals, clinics, EMS agencies, and healthcare employers across the country, including facilities throughout the San Joaquin Valley and greater Northern California.
Healthcare professionals in Tracy no longer need to choose between a full-day classroom commitment and getting properly trained. Self-Guided Learning™ courses through Safety Training Seminars give you the flexibility to complete American Heart Association BLS, ACLS, and PALS training on your schedule—while maintaining the rigorous standards that AHA training requires.
The Tracy office is open seven days a week. Enroll online and complete your Self-Guided Learning course at 902 N Central Ave Suite 219, Tracy, CA 95376.
